In May 2012 the Lehigh Valley Chapter awarded four $1,500 scholarships to local high school seniors who have been accepted to engineering programs.

Kristen Leskowich
Kristen is graduating from Northern Lehigh High School.
She has been accepted and will be attending Lehigh University this fall working towards a degree in Chemical Engineering. Kristen is a member and President of the National Honors Society. She has participated in the Biology Olympics, American Mathematics Competition and Chemistry Independent Study and tutoring. Kristen is President of her Senior Class, as well as participates in the Choir, Band and Theater. Outside of school, Kristen works with a Free Clothing Drive and various Church activities.
Rachel Wehr
Rachel is graduating from Parkland High School.
She has been accepted and will be attending the University of Arizona this fall working towards a degree in Civil or Biosystems Engineering. Rachel is a member of the National Honors Society, Spanish Honors Society and English Honors Society. She has participated in the Parkland Science Fair and Math League. She has received the Principal’s Award for Academic Excellence and Parkland’s Star Student Award. Outside of school, Rachel is a dance teacher with Union UCC Youth Group, the Muhlenberg College Community Dance Theater and she also works for the AGAPE Church Food Bank.
Royce Kok
Royce is graduating from Whitehall High School.
She has been accepted and will be attending Lehigh University this fall. Royce was accepted into the Integrated Business and Engineering Honors Program and will be working to graduate with dual degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Business through a five year program. Royce is a member of the National Honors Society, Spanish National Honors Society and the Model United Nations. She has participated in the Science Olympiad, Biology Club and Math League at school. Outside of school Royce is involved with Big Brother Big Sister, the Da Vinci Science Center and Church activities.
Irene Kurtz
Irene is graduating from Notre Dame High School in Easton.
Irene has been accepted and will be attending Lafayette College entering studies to graduate as a Civil engineer. Her interest is in structure design and engineering. She is a member of the National Caliber Speech and Debate Team. Irene is active in choir, musical and theater activities at Notre Dame. Outside of school Irene is active in the Summerbridge Program as a teacher for underprivileged youth and numerous other Church activities within her parish.
